Brown Leads Celtics to Victory in Game 1
Jayson Tatum had 32 points, Jaylen Brown added 29 and the Boston Celtics beat the Dallas Mavericks 105-98 in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night. The Celtics led by just five points with less than four minutes remaining, but they closed the game on a 10-2 run to take the opener of the best-of-seven series.
Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with 20 points, but he was just 6-of-18 from the field. Spencer Dinwiddie added 19 points and Jalen Brunson had 18.
Brown Calls on Celtics Nation for Game 2
After the game, Brown said he hopes the Celtics can get the same support from their fans in Game 2 on Sunday night.
"We need Celtics Nation to be loud and proud," Brown said. "We need them to make this place a fortress. We know it's going to be a tough game, but we're confident that we can get the job done."
